Modelling & Simulation Engineer

About the role

– This role will report into the Engineering Manager.
– The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic and eager to learn with strong problem-solving skills. They must be able to work well using their own initiative both independently and as part of a team.
– This is an exciting opportunity to work at a recently built, first of its kind plant designed to recycle magnets for the production of Rare Earth Oxides.
– Potential to get involved on plant to carry out operations and shift pattern work.

Duties & Responsibilities

– Creating and running process simulations on SysCAD.
– Developing mass and energy balances.
– Creating and updating design criteria.
– Design PFDs and P&IDs on Microsoft Visio.
– Analyse and present data in written reports and presentations.
– Design and sourcing of equipment for demonstration plant with other engineers.
– Support in the establishment of timelines and budget.
– Potential to get involved on plant to carry out operations and shift pattern work.

Essential Qualifications & Skills

The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic and eager to learn with strong problem-solving skills. They must be able to work well using their own initiative both independently and as part of a team. In addition, they must meet the following essential criteria:

– A degree in Chemical Engineering or Similar.
– Ability to execute tasks with minimal oversight.
– Experience with the use of spreadsheets to compile, analyse, and present data.
– Strong technical writing ability.
– Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
– Familiarity with process modelling software such as SysCAD, Aspen.
– Experience with 2D drawing software e.g. AutoCAD, Visio.
